Saint Louis University leaders continue monitoring the global concern over the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). To date, there have been no confirmed cases on SLU's St. Louis and Madrid campuses.
St. Louis Campus
SLU is extending remote learning through the end of the spring semester, including final exams. All formerly in-person courses will transition to remote delivery starting Monday, March 23. Remote classes for the School of Law begin Monday, March 16.
At this time, no decisions have been made about commencement or summer classes. Our priority is instructional continuity and minimizing disruption to the academic experience for our students.
Exceptions to the suspension of in-person courses and instruction include: the School of Medicine, select programs in the Doisy College505彩票登录 of Health Sciences, the Center for Advanced Dental Education, courses that are already online, and off-campus experiential learning opportunities (clinicals, internships, student teaching, etc.).
Supporting Remote Learning
SLU has implemented Zoom, a leading online video conferencing system to support remote learning throughout the University. Zoom is a cloud-based tool that will enable users to have remote real-time lectures, discussions, meetings, and office hours, among other things. ITS is developing an effective training plan that will empower users to employ this new tool successfully.
With the health and safety of our students as our foremost priority, SLU has developed a plan to organize most of our on-campus residents to begin moving out of all residence halls and university apartments by Sunday, March 22, 505彩票登录. It is important to make every effort to complete move-out by this date as regular coursework is resuming online for the remainder of the semester on Monday, March 23, 505彩票登录.
SLU currently plans to remain open and will continue with normal business operations, with the exception of some areas that are primarily staffed by students and could therefore see reduced hours. We are planning for multiple contingencies, as always, should the need arise.
In Madrid, the campus is strongly recommending that all U.S. students return to their 505彩票登录s in the United States, following new travel restrictions and warnings for Europe. Faculty in Madrid have been working tirelessly to ensure that classes can be completed remotely. Remote classes formally begin Monday, March 16.
